Eleven people have been killed and several others injured in an attack on a police station by suspected members of a separatist group, Iran state TV has said.
Ali Reza Marhemati, the deputy governor of Sistan and Baluchistan province, said senior police officers and soldiers were among those who died in the assault in the town of Rask at about 2am on Friday.
He said several of the attackers were killed by police in a shootout.
State TV blamed the attack on the Jaish al Adl separatist group.
