Travellers heading to Europe should soon be able to resume their journey after a deal was done to end a strike that halted cross-Channel rail services.
Thousands were left stranded on both sides when French workers rejected their end-of-year bonus offer.
Services affected included the Eurostar, which runs passenger services to and from London St Pancras, and Eurotunnel Le Shuttle, which runs vehicle-carrying trains to and from Folkestone.
The disruption started about midday and at least 30 Eurostar trains were cancelled, with many turning back to where they started.
Eurotunnel later said management and trade unions had reached an agreement that meant services will “resume progressively this evening and Eurostar tomorrow morning”.
Getlink, the company that manages and operates the infrastructure of the Channel Tunnel, said unions had rejected a €1,000 (£866) bonus proposed by management.
The union is said to have demanded three times as much.
