Elon Musk’s X has been hit with a lawsuit for unlawful termination, adding to the company’s legal troubles.
Alan Rosa, the former head of information security at Twitter (now called X), filed a lawsuit in a New Jersey court, accusing the company of firing him after he objected to CEO Elon Musk’s proposed budget cuts.
Rosa claims that Musk instructed him to cut physical security by 50% and eliminate the policy of sharing user information with global law enforcement. He objected to these orders, stating that it would risk violating a settlement agreement with the U.S. government.
Under the settlement reached between Twitter and the U.S. Federal Trade Commission in 2022, the platform was required to implement better privacy protections for users and provide information to law enforcement about user posts.
Rosa alleges that he was fired shortly after objecting to Musk’s proposed changes and is seeking compensation for unlawful termination and legal fees.
This lawsuit adds to X’s existing legal issues, including unpaid severance, unpaid rent, and allegations of discrimination against disabled and elderly employees.
