Chip and Joanna Gaines, stars of HGTV’s “Fixer Upper,” have opened their first hotel in their hometown of Waco, Texas. The hotel, named Hotel 1928 in honor of the year the building was completed, offers 33 rooms, three dining options, a rooftop terrace, and over 6,600 square feet of event space. The hotel boasts a traditional decor with leather furniture, a two-story library, and elegant fireplaces in the lobby.
The renovation of the hotel is also featured in their new series, “Fixer Upper: Hotel,” which premiered this month on the Magnolia Network. The series can be streamed on Max and Discovery+. The restoration of the hotel was a collaborative effort with Adventurous Journeys Capital Partners.
Over the years, Chip and Joanna Gaines have gained popularity for renovating numerous homes in Waco on their show “Fixer Upper.” They have also transformed two defunct cottonseed mills into the famous Magnolia Market at the Silos.
In September, the couple put their Magnolia House in McGregor, Texas, on the market for nearly $1 million. The 2,868-square-foot home, which was featured on “Fixer Upper,” offers seven bedrooms and four bathrooms. Currently, the property is being utilized as a short- and long-term rental property on Airbnb.
After stepping away from the cameras in 2018, the Gaineses have been focusing on raising their five children and launching the Magnolia Network. Their return to “Fixer Upper” on Max showcases their renovation of a historic landmark into Hotel 1928.
