Amtrak train service on the line between Albany and New York City remained disrupted for a second day on Monday morning.
Amtrak suspended service between New York Penn Station and the Croton-Harmon station on Sunday, citing structural issues with a parking garage above the tracks on West 51st Street between 10th and 11th Avenues.
A spokesman for Amtrak said that there was no estimate yet on when service would be restored and that it would depend on the status of the garage.
Metro-North trains continued to run between Grand Central Terminal and Croton-Harmon, and Amtrak tickets were being honored on that line.
New York City engineers were assessing the privately owned garage, Mayor Eric Adams said Sunday, “to ensure the safety of passengers and pedestrians.”
This is a developing story.
