Amazon has disclosed the most commonly asked questions to its smart speaker in 2023.
People wanted to know the height of Lionel Messi, the age of Sir Elton John, and Jennifer Lopez’s spouse.
Queries about the coronation were among the most popular. Some of the top inquiries were “When is the King’s coronation?” and “How old is King Charles?”.
The coronation has been a prevalent subject for online searches across platforms this year, with Google revealing on Monday that “when is the coronation?” was its most searched “when” question of the year.
With the frenzy over the Oppenheimer film, box office hits Barbie and Oppenheimer took top positions in the questions asked, with people being curious about the content of Barbie.
Ed Sheeran was named the most-played artist, followed by Taylor Swift, Lewis Capaldi, and Elvis Presley, while Miley Cyrus’ “Flowers” was the most-played song of the year.
People were also curious about Ed Sheeran’s wealth, with questions about his net worth being second only to those about Elon Musk’s.

Yorkshire puddings were the most requested recipe, followed by pancakes (last year’s top recipe) and banana bread. Perhaps a surprise entry for the eighth most asked-for recipe: hot-smoked salmon, lentil, and pomegranate salad.
When it comes to sports questions, the most frequently asked one was simply “Alexa, what’s the score?”.
Football questions were popular, but sports fans also sought updates on cricket, the Grand Prix, and Wimbledon.
“Sing Happy Birthday” was named the most requested “personality song”, followed by requests for Alexa to beatbox and sing a song about dogs.
